Roberta Escalera, FNP & Clinical Educator

With a medical career spanning over three and a half decades, Roberta offers a rare depth of experience across nearly every level of patient care. Her journey began in 1989 as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), providing a foundational bedside perspective that continues to inform her practice today. She advanced to Licensed Practical Nurse in 2004 and Registered Nurse in 2005, eventually earning her Master’s in Nursing Education from the University of Phoenix in 2012.

Throughout her career as an RN and Clinical Instructor, Roberta developed expertise across a broad clinical spectrum, including Phlebotomy, Labor & Delivery, Cardiac care, and the ICU. She spent several years as a specialty Wound and Ostomy RN at Banner Desert Medical Center, where she received the prestigious DAISY Award in 2018. She also served as a Forensic RN, collecting critical DNA evidence and providing compassionate advocacy for survivors of sexual assault.

Driven by a desire to provide higher-level care to her community, Roberta earned her Advanced Practice Degree in Family Practice in 2019. Since 2020, she has served as a Family Nurse Practitioner, combining primary care with specialized Endocrinology experience, managing complex conditions such as diabetes and thyroid disorders. Today, she is proud to be part of the team at Allied Medical Associates, where she assesses, diagnoses, and treats a wide range of primary care conditions.

Roberta is currently pursuing certification in IPA (Integrative Processing Technique), a modality focused on releasing emotional wounds and shifting limiting beliefs. She recognizes that the body can hold onto stress, impacting both emotional and physical health, often manifesting as pain, headaches, or digestive issues.

On a Personal Note,

Roberta’s approach to medicine is deeply rooted in her faith. She loves Jesus and considers it a privilege to pray for her patients whenever they desire. At home, she is a devoted dog mom to two fur babies. When she’s not in the clinic, you’ll find Roberta outdoors, playing cards, getting lost in an audiobook, or bravely (if not perfectly!) taking the stage for a night of karaoke.
